Persistent Notifications

Use persistent notifications to avoid missing inbound messages and as a reminder to take action.

Updated over a week ago

Front-line workers across the hospitality, food & beverage, and retail industries can now use Persistent Notifications to ensure they never miss an inbound message. This new notifications setting (My Settings > Notifications > Persistent) bolsters the existing Medallia Concierge tri-tone by letting the notification chime persist until a user takes action and marks an inbound message as read.

Workers providing curbside pickup service at loud and busy restaurants, hospitality support staff working the reception desk, or customer support workers in noisy retail stores can use this setting to avoid missing incoming Medallia Concierge messages, and use it as a reminder that there is something on which they need to take action.

How To Turn on Persistent Notifications

To turn on this feature, the Persistent Notifications toggle is available under My Settings > Notifications > Notification Preferences > Persistent.

Persistent Notifications Behavior

  • Tri-tone (existing Medallia Concierge sound) will chime in persistent intervals

  • Tri-tone will continually chime for 10 seconds, then pause for 10 seconds. This will repeat until the user marks an Unread inbound message as Read.

  • This chime cycle will continue and persist until there are zero unread messages, or until it times out.

  • Persistent notifications will timeout after an hour after the most recent unread badge.

  • If a user has persistent notifications on, and they have one or more unread messages, then the persistent notifications will remain.

Persistent Notifications is available on web, Android, and iOS.
