Zings Overview

A walkthrough of how to add automations to your service

Zings are automated workflows that automate tasks. Zings are so flexible and configurable that the possibilities are nearly endless -- here are some common use cases:

  • Keyword automations

  • Surveys

  • Registrations

  • Alerts & escalations

  • Appointment reminders

  • Scheduled group messages

  • ...and so much more!

Select the +Create Zing or Zing Marketplace to view, customize and implement existing Zing Templates or Start from Scratch.

Let's review some terms and definitions:

Trigger

A trigger is used to define when a Zing starts. Although most Zings have at least one trigger, they can be run manually without a trigger as well.

Action

An action is an automated task that is performed after the trigger is executed. Each Zing requires at least one action but often times are composed of several actions.

Filter

A filter can be optionally applied prior to an action executing. Filters use logic to limit the contacts that the action executes against.

You can create multiple filters using "AND" logic.

Timeout Action (less commonly used)

A Timeout Action can be optionally created in a Zing in order to perform an action if there is inactivity for a defined period of time.

Sorting your Zings

If you have more than one Zing, you'll have the option to manually sort them by dragging and dropping. This is important because if you have more than one Zing with the same trigger, only one will fire, so it's important to manually order them.
